The weirdest thing just happened that makes me think God is so amazing! I woke up in the middle of the night, and went to the toilet.
Suddenly I noticed an insect flying around. It was a mosquito and it was the insect that Amilee had been telling me about; it has been around for at least 2 days. I followed the mosquito with my eyes and saw it fly under the bathroom counter where the sink is.
So I looked under the counter, and there were 5 mosquitoes just resting there!!!
I killed all of them. My daughter had really bad reactions to mosquito bites such that she was hospitalized in December last year because of it. Patiently, one by one, as they buzzed around. I waited for opportune moments to smash them.
God woke me up to be at the right place at the right time, so I could kill those 5 mosquito all at once, when they were all congregating there. He is so good!!
Why did God make mosquitoes? The answer is that these insects were never created to drink blood. They only do so now because of Adam’s sin, causing the entire creation to become fallen. All mosquitoes, like all other creatures, used to only eat fruits and vegetables. One day, when Jesus returns and sets this world right again, animals will no longer harm or kill, and they will be peaceful. A child will be able to play by a serpent’s nest and be safe, and the wolf will lie down peacefully next to a lamb, and nothing shall hurt or destroy in Zion—God’s holy mountain.
I don’t believe in coincidences. God has everything under Heaven arranged into times and seasons. Our actions are our own choices, but He who is all-seeing knows exactly when to step in and intervene for our good. Only God can put you in the right place, at the right time. He who knows the beginning to the end, will turn things around for your good!

Why am I mostly whole food plant-based (and not just vegan)?
First of all, “whole food plant-based” (WFPB) refers to foods that are unprocessed. So in other words, real foods that grow from the ground: fruits, vegetables, whole grains, seeds, nuts, etc.
I went mostly whole food plant-based three years ago for two reasons: 1) When you work for NutritionFacts.org and watch video after video about the health benefits of a WFPB diet, it’s hard not to walk the talk. 2) My body naturally doesn’t like foods that are too heavy, oily, salty, or sweet. It just doesn’t feel good to consume those foods.
Do I do it 100% all the time? Of course not! 😛 I don’t have oil, salt or sugar at home, and I don’t buy any refined grains. So when I cook at home, I’m 100% WFPB & SOS-free. But when I eat out, I’m more flexible with SOS. I still wouldn’t eat deep-fried foods even when I eat out, and avoid white rice or white noodles as much as I can. But when I crave a vegan donut or cheesecake, I also won’t stop myself. The point is not to do it perfectly all the time, but to make it a habit to eat healthy and just do the best you can.
People go vegan for different reasons. I didn’t care about health when I first started my vegetarian/vegan journey 14 years ago, and I was even proud of it. But I always strive to expand myself, so going WFPB seemed like a natural next step. When I eat clean, I see the difference in my level of energy, cognitive function, and most notably - my skin. I also think it’s a pity to see people who went vegan reverse back to eating meat because they encountered health issues that have nothing to do with being vegan or not, but are actually about eating healthy/real foods vs. processed junk, not supplementing correctly (B12, for example), or not maintaining an active lifestyle.
Taking the environment into consideration, unprocessed fruits and vegetables also don’t require much packaging, unlike vegan patties or nuggets that usually come wrapped in plastic. Nature is not something outside of us - we are nature, and our health is interconnected with the health of the planet. So feel free to reach out if you have any questions, or even better, follow NutritionFacts.org ❤️

Pregnancy Diaries:
Month 1-2: Normal diet, normal exercise, normal sleep (for a regular mom with a 3 year old toddler)
Month 3: Can I just sleep please...OOOOOOH Cheesecake! No, sleeeeeeeep….
Month 4-5: OMGOMGOMGOMG. GIVE ME CHILI! Spices! Salt! Strong flavors! Indian curry! Korean kimchi, spicy hot pot, spicy anything, SPICY EVERYTHING!!
Month 6: Oops. I think I ate too much.
Month 7: I want to eat… oh. Where did my belly go? Did it shrink? Ah yes, it’s now the baby punching bag. Oh! Gotta go pee….
My doctor has recommended prenatal vitamins (just good in general), folic acid (for development of baby), omega 3s (for baby mental health), and calcium/magnesium (if you are starting to get uncomfortablelike me… Excuse me… WHY oh WHY do you always come in the middle of the night?!). Other supplements may also include iron, vitamin B12, vitamin D…
Obviously, ask your doctor what’s best for YOUR personal pregnancy journey.
I also supplement with InSeed probiotics to help me maintain an overall balanced life. Being a working mom OR a stay-at-home mom are both very challenging and sometimes you just need a little extra energy (extra Vitamin B anyone?), or perhaps a boost of DHA for mom and baby, or maybe some roselle and cranberries extract to make you feel more like a woman.
Pregnancy is quite an amazing thing and it does quite a crazy thing to your body. I’ve been trying to “listen” to what my body has been telling me since day one and in general, try and stay healthy with lots of fresh vegetables, fruits and healthy meats/seafood. Of course, I will give into some cravings (like spice, occasionally sweet desserts, and yes, even unhealthier things like fried foods) because I feel like it’s my body telling me it needs something I may not be aware of. Or because, JUST GIVE IT TO ME ALREADY… (yes,... hormones).

Israel's Carmel Market and Sarona Market are two representative markets in Tel Aviv, Israel, and present very different looks. Sarona Market reveals Israeli demands for architecture, style and taste. It's a pity to miss any one.
The indoor market of Salona is built in a fashion market, with a higher level of environment and sanitation. The price is also higher than the Carmel market, but it can be exchanged for more delicate meals and features. Small Things. The entire mall uses a large number of glass roofs to introduce natural light, and a well-built interior decoration space, it is easy to catch the eyes of young travelers and cameras. Maybe the wallet has not been opened, and the camera in your hand has been photographed for several rounds.
From meat, seafood, fruits and vegetables to cultural and creative supplies, you can find treasures in the market of Salona. But Israel's prices are not low. The Salona market, which takes the route of the boutique market, will have a higher price. However, the refreshing and bright dining environment, carefully designed signboards and other details all bring new and joyful pleasures to the "market visit".
The young people selling traditional Israeli home-cooked dishes constantly sip us to taste. In fact, traditional Israeli foods are mostly stewed and fried. The ingredients are simple, and the flavor is changed through many spices. At first glance, the sales are not very good. However, the stewed rice wrapped with grape leaves is sour and sweet, and the rice is soft and easy. Chew, the taste is unforgettable. Other dishes such as fried chicken, potato pancakes, tomato soup and other dishes are common table dishes in Israeli families, each with its own characteristics, but not as good as the surprise brought by grape leaf wrapped stew.

It is hard to lose weight. Eighty percent of people who lose weight regain it within a year. Many of those people may have done everything right, only to see the number on the scale creep back up in defiance. There’s a reason for that. Your brain doesn’t want you to lose weight, and it throws everything it can at the problem to keep it from happening.
Drop It Like It’s Not:
Your body doesn’t like change. Take temperature, for instance. If your body temperature goes even a degree or two above or below good of 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit (37 degrees Celsius), all sorts of systems kick into gear to put you back at baseline. If you’re hot, your capillaries expand to let off heat and you begin to sweat to cool yourself down. If you’re cold, your capillaries restrict and begin to shiver to bring your body back up to a comfortable temperature.
The same thing is true of your weight. Your weight has what’s known as a “set point” that your brain thinks is healthiest. If you start cutting your calories, you’ll probably lose weight, often in the form of fat. When you lose fat, it decreases your levels of leptin, one of the “hunger” hormones that generally makes you feel full. Your brain notices that decrease and goes on the defensive by increasing your hunger to make you eat more and slowing your metabolism to conserve energy. That increase in hunger is why dieting can make those stale snacks you’ve had in the pantry forever suddenly look unbelievably appealing.
The slowdown in your metabolism is harder to notice, however. There’s something called non-exercise activity thermogenesis, or NEAT, that describes the energy you expend for everything that isn’t sleeping, eating, or working out — things like walking to the kitchen, doing yard work, playing with your phone, or even fidgeting. When you eat less, your NEAT reduces in ways that probably go under the radar. You might be a little less fidgety, or walk to the kitchen just a little less boisterously. That’s your body conserving energy. Its goals may be different than yours, but its heart is in the right place.
We’re All Friends Here:
So how do you sit your brain down and explain that this weight is where you’d like to be? We hate to disappoint you, but the answer is pretty boring: Eat fruits and vegetables, unrefined grains, and plenty of protein. Strive for slow, steady weight loss. Instead of vowing to drop 10 pounds before summer, try to eat a vegetable with every meal or cut out alcohol on weekdays. Get plenty of sleep, regular exercise, and try to keep your stress levels under control. The key is to keep your body comfortable with the process so it doesn’t sabotage your efforts. If you’re kind to your body, your body is more likely to be kind back.
